How To Plan For Baby Baptism Party

Baptism is a Christian way to initiate and welcome a newborn child in a form church ritual. During baptism, relatives and friends of parents are gathered to celebrate life and faith of baptized baby as a newly proclaimed child of Christ. After the baptism, child's parents are expected to hold a party as a part of baptismal tradition, and guests are also expected to give baptism gifts for the baby. The party may be either held at the church where the baby was baptized or at home. To plan for a baptism party, read the following ideas below.
  • Step 1. Decide whether the party will run in formal or non-formal theme. Determine the invited guests and see if they are used to more formal or informal entertainment. This is one way also of determining if how many people will be attending and how large the party venue should be. Party favors, decorations and menus may vary according the theme of the party. Example, if the party is non-formal, the party favors could be baby supplies like bibs, baby toys, baby clothing and the like.

  • Step 2. Plan the budget. Before planning what to include in the party, check first the budget or ask yourself if it is affordable for you. Party accessories like decors, shower favors, food menus, drinks, games and more needs to have enough budget to make them work.

  • Step 3. Planning and preparing for baptism party can be very challenging where there several responsibilities that need to be done. Asking for some help and assistance from family members and friends can't hurt. Plan a group work with friends or family members and divide tasks for each of them. Example, to look for the party venue is the task of the sister, and to plan for baby shower games is for the best friend. This will help parents to have more time to relax and focus on other aspect of party preparation.

  • Step 4. Consider working within your time frame. Know what time the baptism will begin and end, and how much time there will be between the baptism and the party. In this way, panicking will be avoided.

  • Step 5. Appoint last-minute tasks for reliable people beforehand. Instruct them properly when and in what order the tasks need to be accomplished.

  • Step 6. Don't forget the needs of the baby. Never tired the baby with too much company. It isn't a don't when the baby needs to be fed or changed, especially when he or she fell asleep and you need to keep him/her away from noise of the crowd.
